This factory service and repair manual for the 1994 GMC K2500 has to distinguish between two versions of the same diesel: a turbocharged 6.5L V8 and a naturally aspirated one of identical displacement. Four gasoline engines fill out the list, the 4.3L V6, the 5.0L V8, the 5.7L V8 and the 7.4L V8. Bodies run to a standard cab pickup, a cab & chassis and an extended cab pickup, and the trims are Sierra SL, Sierra SLE and Sierra SLT, with the mechanical content common to all three.

Known issues on the 1994 K2500. Two recalls stand against this model year, both on aftermarket parts sold for these trucks. Replacement fuel filters may seal imperfectly at the connection and let fuel escape toward an ignition source; replacement oil filters can seal poorly too, draining engine oil and inviting the same fire risk. Owner complaints number seven with NHTSA, three of them about the service brakes, two about the seats and one about fuel and propulsion. Brake and fuel system procedures, with their torque values and diagnostics, are where those reports lead.
