This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 GMC K2500, offered as a standard cab pickup, an extended cab pickup or a cab & chassis, works through a six-engine lineup that runs from the 4.3L V6 to the 7.4L V8. Known issues on the 1993 K2500. Three entries make up the federal recall record here. One describes replacement fuel filters that can fail to seal and leak fuel; a second, replacement oil filters that can seal badly and let the engine lose its oil; a third, transmission fluid pushed out through the vent tube by unanticipated heat. All three end in the same place, a fire hazard. Two owner complaints are logged with NHTSA, one on the service brakes and one on the seats. Brake specifications, transmission procedures and the fuel system diagnostics are the relevant sections.

Consequence

Remedy

Consequence
THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE AN INADEQUATE SEAL AT THE CONNECTION, POTENTIALLY LEADING TO A FUEL LEAK. I
Remedy
HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOB
UNANTICIPATED HEAT IN THE TRANSMISSION CAN FORCE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID OUT OF THE VENT TUBE.
Consequence
THE VENTED TRANSMISSION FLUID CAN CATCH FIRE IF EXPOSEDTO A SOURCE OF IGNITION.
Remedy
INSTALL A LONGER TRANSMISSION VENT HOSE ROUTED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OF THE VEH

I TRIED TO STOP IN WHICH I HAD ENOUGH TIME TO STOP THERE AND I REAR ENDED A VEHICLE MY BRAKES WENT THE FLOOR. THERE WERE NO BLACK MARKS SHOWING ANY SKID. I HAVE LOOKED ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PRO
