1991 GMC K2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1991 GMC K2500 takes in five engines: the 4.3L V6, the 5.0L V8, the 5.7L V8 and the 7.4L V8 on gasoline, and the 6.2L V8 on diesel. Every one is an overhead-valve unit without forced induction. The truck itself came as a standard cab pickup, an extended cab pickup or a cab & chassis, in Sierra, Sierra SLE or Sierra SLX trim, and the manual carries the procedures, specifications and torque values that separate one combination from another.

Known issues on the 1991 K2500. Three recalls are attached to this model year, all of them fire risks. Replacement fuel filters sold for these trucks may not seal where they connect, so fuel can escape and reach an ignition source. Replacement oil filters can seal just as poorly and lose engine oil to the same end. And when the automatic transmission takes on more heat than anticipated, fluid can be pushed out of the vent tube onto hot surfaces. Four owner complaints are logged with NHTSA, spread among seat belts, seats and the power train. Fuel, transmission and restraint work is all specified here.
