1989 Chevrolet C2500 Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1989 Chevrolet C2500 adds a cab and chassis to the standard and extended cab pickups, three bodies in all, while the engine bay stays as it was: a 4.3L V6, the 5.0L and 5.7L gasoline V8s and the 6.2L diesel, every one overhead-valve. Base, Cheyenne, Scottsdale and Silverado make up the trim range. Mounting and wiring differences matter on a chassis cab, and those stay apart from the mechanical sections shared by all three bodies.

Known issues on the 1989 C2500. Three recalls are recorded federally. Two involve replacement filters that fail to seal, one releasing fuel at a connection and one losing engine oil, each capable of feeding a fire. The third is paperwork with physical consequences: rear lap-shoulder belts described with the wrong adjustment method, which leaves an occupant improperly restrained in a crash or a sudden stop. Twelve complaints were logged, the power train ahead at three with tires and service brakes at two each, and transmission, axle, brake and restraint procedures all sit in this manual.
