Known issues on the 1989 C2500. Three recalls are recorded federally. Two involve replacement filters that fail to seal, one releasing fuel at a connection and one losing engine oil, each capable of feeding a fire. The third is paperwork with physical consequences: rear lap-shoulder belts described with the wrong adjustment method, which leaves an occupant improperly restrained in a crash or a sudden stop. Twelve complaints were logged, the power train ahead at three with tires and service brakes at two each, and transmission, axle, brake and restraint procedures all sit in this manual.
