Mechanically, the 2027 Transit is unchanged from 2026: the gasoline-only 3.5L PFDi V6 is the standard engine, and the twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6 is optional, or standard on the highest-rated dual-rear-wheel 350 HD models. The updates are in equipment, with the Ford Security Package, a perimeter alarm and switchable daytime running lamps becoming standard on cargo and passenger vans, and side parking sensors dropped. Cargo vans, the PTV prisoner-transport van, XL and XLT passenger vans, cutaways and chassis cabs are covered from 150 to 350 HD. This factory service and repair manual supplies 2027 procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for both V6 engines, the 10-speed automatic, RWD and AWD.

Known issues on the 2027 Transit. One recall is on federal record, shared with the 2026 model: the wireless seat belt reminder sensors in the rear seat belt buckles may malfunction and fail to show when a belt is fastened or unfastened, so occupants may not be warned. Dealers will inspect the rear belts and replace the wireless buckles as needed, with the remedy expected in December 2026. NHTSA lists no owner complaints for this model year yet. Restraint system diagnostics and wiring diagrams in this manual support that work.
