Known issues on the 2021 Cooper. Two recalls are listed for the 2021 Cooper. On certain 2021 Cooper two-door hatchbacks and convertibles, the automatic locking feature of the passenger seat belt retractor could switch off before the belt had fully wound back in; dealers inspect the belts and replace retractors where needed. On certain hatchbacks, whether two-door or four-door, a fault in the rollover sensor inside the air bag control unit could keep the head air bags and belt pretensioners from firing in a rollover, fixed with a new control unit.
