Known issues on the 2014 Cooper. Seven recalls are recorded for the 2014 Cooper. Certain 2014 Cooper hatchbacks built within a stated window, 5,805 vehicles, may have had the spare wheel held by a nut that was not self-locking and could vibrate loose and drop the wheel; a locking nut replaces it. Certain hatchbacks fell short on side-impact protection for rear passengers and received extra energy-absorbing padding behind the rear side panels. On certain hatchbacks built within a stated window, software that may have been loaded during service could let the driver leave the car out of Park, so it might roll away.
