Known issues on the 2007 Cooper. Six recalls are on record for the 2007 Cooper. On certain turbocharged 2007 Cooper vehicles built within a stated window, the circuit board in the auxiliary pump that cools the turbocharger could overheat and smolder, raising the chance of fire; dealers swap the pump. Certain S versions had a center tailpipe tip reaching past the bumper, which could burn a leg if touched while hot, and received a shorter pipe. Certain hatchbacks sold or registered in certain states could see road salt and water corrode the control module in the driver footwell until it shorted.
