Known issues on the 2019 Cooper. NHTSA shows 2 recalls for the 2019 Cooper. Certain 2019 Cooper convertibles in S form, 32 vehicles, may have a steering tie rod assembled wrongly, so its end could wear fast and eventually break and cost the driver control; dealers inspect and replace tie rods and ball joints as needed. Certain other cars may have crankshaft sensor firmware that could misread the reluctor ring and stall the engine, and a new sensor is the remedy. Of 17 owner complaints, 5 name steering and 4 the electrical system.
