Known issues on the 2013 TITAN. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the brake master cylinder, which may intermittently reduce pressure to the front brakes, meaning less braking power and a longer stopping distance. The second covers the steering column-mounted transmission shift lever, where manufacturing chemicals can compromise the brake shift interlock and allow the truck to be shifted out of Park without the brake pedal depressed, risking an unintended rollaway. The third covers the driver-side frontal air bag inflator module, which may rupture during deployment and send metal fragments toward occupants. If the front brake pressure is reduced there would be less braking power, requiring a longer distance to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Nissan has notified owners, and dealers will replace the master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began on October 21, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
