Known issues on the 2009 TITAN. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers replacement front and rear lower control links whose collar welds may not meet strength requirements, and a separated weld can degrade vehicle handling and lead to a crash. The second covers the brake pedal assembly, where an improperly spin-formed pivot pin can slide and let the pedal partially disengage from its bracket, producing sudden pedal looseness and reduced braking force. The third covers the instrument panel fuel gauge, which can inaccurately show fuel remaining when the tank is actually empty, risking an unexpected stall on the highway. The fourth covers the driver's air bag cover emblem, which can crack and detach to become a projectile during deployment. Owners have filed 47 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From a brake pedal-feel inspection to a fuel gauge check or a front suspension service, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2009 TITAN.
