Known issues on the 2004 TITAN. Seven recalls are on federal record for this model year. Front and rear lower control links can have collar welds that separate, degrading handling and raising crash risk. The engine control module relay in the intelligent power distribution module can develop silicon oxide on its contacts, causing engine stalling. Rear center seat belts on crew cab models may not release from the automatic locking mode once retracted, preventing their use. Certain aftermarket trailer brake control harnesses can misroute power to the dash light circuit instead of the trailer brakes, reducing stopping ability while towing. Wiring for the driver seat belt pretensioner, front passenger occupant classification system and rear speakers on king cab trucks can break from repeated door flexing, risking pretensioner misfire or a non-deploying passenger air bag. Column shift lever assemblies on certain pickups may be damaged during assembly, eventually failing to hold the lever in park. And an area on the rear pillar where the rear seat belt upper anchor attaches may not be sufficiently energy absorbent, raising injury risk in a crash. IF THE COLLAR WELD SEPARATES, THE VEHICLE HANDLING WILL DETERIORATE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy
NISSAN WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE ANY AFFECTED LOWER LINK FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 12, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2004-2006 ARMADA, TITAN, INFINITI QX56 AND MODEL YEAR 2005-2006 FRONTIER, PATHFINDER AND XTERRA VEHICLES. THE INTELLIGENT POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE (IPDM) ASSEMBLY CONTAINS AN ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) RELAY
Consequence
THIS COULD CAUSE ENGINE STALLING INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy

Consequence
IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, A SEAT OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE REAR CENTER SEAT BELT WITH A NEW ONE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 11, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
