Known issues on the 2012 A3 Quattro. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. Three separate campaigns cover the driver's frontal air bag inflator module, where excessive internal pressure can cause the inflator to explode or rupture, sending metal fragments into the driver or other occupants during a crash. The fourth covers the diesel fuel system: injector line number 2 can develop small cracks from resonance under specific load and RPM conditions, and leaking fuel near an ignition source can lead to a fire.
