Known issues on the 2010 A3. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first two both cover the driver's frontal air bag inflator module, which can explode or rupture on deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin. A third covers the diesel fuel system, where injector line number 2 could develop small cracks from resonance and lead to a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source. A fourth covers the gasoline fuel tank assembly, where an internal spring in the fuel tank ventilation valve may not hold closed under extreme driving conditions, possibly allowing fuel to leak. A fifth covers the automatic transmission, where a temperature sensor with insufficiently crimped connector wires can falsely detect high gearbox oil temperature and cause an abrupt, unannounced shift to neutral.
