Known issues on the 2006 A3 Quattro. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two cover the driver's frontal air bag inflator module, where excessive internal pressure can cause the inflator to explode or rupture and send metal fragments toward the occupants during a crash. A third covers the fuel tank assembly, where the ventilation valve's internal spring may not hold closed under extreme driving conditions, allowing fuel to leak in the presence of an ignition source. The fourth covers the side and window air bags, which may fail to inflate as designed in a crash due to a production leak in the curtain air bag inflation module. Remedy
