Known issues on the 2009 Q7. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year, and all trace back to the fuel system. The first two both cover the fuel pump flange: an interim butyl-tape repair that may not fully stop leaking fuel, and before that the underlying flange, which can crack and leak fuel, in either case raising fire risk if an ignition source is present. The third covers the certification label, which lists an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating and can allow the vehicle to be overloaded, increasing crash risk. Consequence
The butyl tape may not prevent fuel from leaking. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump flange and install butyl tape, free of charge. The recall began December 28, 2018. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1

Consequence
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Audi will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the flange, replacing any flanges that are cracked. If the flange is not cracked, dealers will clean the pump flange and install a butyl rubber band
