Known issues on the 2006 Colorado. Four recalls are recorded for this model year. Two concern the brake lamp switch, where the stop lamps can go permanently dark or stay lit and the cruise control quits along with them. One concerns the front center seating position of cabs without a rear seat, which fails the federal child restraint requirement. The fourth is a tire and loading label printed with the wrong vehicle capacity weight, which can lead to overloading or incorrect inflation and then a tire failure. Complaints run to 236: 55 electrical, 36 on service brakes and 30 on engine and engine cooling.
