2004 Isuzu N-Series Service and Repair Manual

The last Isuzu N-Series with the 4.8-liter 4HE1-TC turbodiesel is the 2004 model. NPR, NPR HD and NQR diesel trucks used it for one final season before the 5.2-liter engine arrived, and the gasoline NPR and NPR HD now came only with the 6.0-liter V8. Known issues on the 2004 N-Series. Two recalls are on federal record. One covers trucks with RPO IK9, whose fuel switching manifold solenoids can fail from water or salt intrusion and overflow diesel from the filler neck. The other covers the optional oil pan heater (RPO IG3), where debris at the plug can overheat the extension cord and melt the connector, raising the risk of fire. No owner complaints are logged.
