Known issues on the 2003 Tahoe. Seven recalls are recorded for this model year. One involves the routing of the second-row center lap belt, which can sit on an occupant's abdomen instead of low across the hips. Another covers an out-of-specification bore in the brake hydro-boost housing that can fracture the valve seal and raise steering effort while braking. A third concerns rear door upper hinge welds made below specification, weakening the door in a side impact. The electrical system draws 181 of 534 complaints, ahead of brakes at 106 and steering at 54.
