Known issues on the 2000 Express 2500. One recall applies to this model year, and it concerns replacement oil filters rather than anything built into the van: the affected parts may not seal adequately, and the engine oil that escapes can catch fire on hot surfaces. Two owner complaints exist, one on the air bags and one on the electrical system. With a record that thin, the lubrication specifications, oil pressure figures, restraint diagnostics and complete wiring diagrams in this manual are the reliable way to judge a particular van.
