1999 GMC K1500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1999 GMC K1500 covers two engines and two cab styles. The engines are the 5.0L and 5.7L gasoline V8s, both overhead-valve and naturally aspirated; the cabs are the 3-door and 2-door extended pickups; the trims are Sierra SL, Sierra SLE and Sierra SLT. With only two closely related engines to document, the manual can be exact about the differences between them while giving the driveline, chassis, brake, electrical and body sections the room they need.

Known issues on the 1999 K1500. Six owner complaints are logged with NHTSA for this model year, three of them on the service brakes, two on the structure and one on the fuel system. Brake work is covered here from end to end, with hydraulic overhaul, friction material and rotor specifications, pedal and booster checks and the antilock diagnostic charts. Frame, cab mounting and body panel procedures sit in the structural sections, and fuel pump, tank and line service comes with the pressure specifications and torque values needed to put it back together correctly.
