This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 GMC K3500 accounts for four engines and five bodies. Known issues on the 1993 K3500. Three recalls stand on the federal record. Replacement fuel filters sold for these trucks may fail to seal at the connection and leak fuel where it can ignite; replacement oil filters can seal badly and drain the engine of oil to similar effect; and the automatic transmission can force fluid out of the vent tube when it runs hotter than expected. One owner complaint is logged with NHTSA under structure. The fuel and transmission sections carry the procedures, torque values and diagnostics the first two entries call for.

Consequence
THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE INADEQUATE SEALING AND LOSS OF ENGINE OIL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.
Remedy
HONEYWELL WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED OIL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN DURING NOVEMBER 20

Consequence
THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE AN INADEQUATE SEAL AT THE CONNECTION, POTENTIALLY LEADING TO A FUEL LEAK. I
Remedy
HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOB
UNANTICIPATED HEAT IN THE TRANSMISSION CAN FORCE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID OUT OF THE VENT TUBE.
Consequence
THE VENTED TRANSMISSION FLUID CAN CATCH FIRE IF EXPOSEDTO A SOURCE OF IGNITION.
Remedy
INSTALL A LONGER TRANSMISSION VENT HOSE ROUTED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OF THE VEH
