Known issues on the 1985 K3500. The 1985 K3500 has a clean federal record: NHTSA lists no recalls and no owner complaints against it. Without a defect history to work through, the manual functions as a workshop reference, holding procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for each of the four engines and applying them to whichever of the four body styles the truck in the bay happens to be.

Consequence
THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE INADEQUATE SEALING AND LOSS OF ENGINE OIL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.
Remedy
HONEYWELL WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED OIL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN DURING NOVEMBER 20
