1992 Chevrolet C1500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1992 Chevrolet C1500 has an unusual entry in its engine list. Alongside the 5.0L and 7.4L gasoline V8s, the 4.3L V6 and the 6.2L diesel, the 5.7L V8 of 350 cubic inches is listed as running on CNG or gasoline, so fuel handling here is not one procedure but several and the manual keeps them apart. Two cab styles, standard and extended, and five trims from WT to 454 SS complete a range that has to be pinned down before any specification is read.

Known issues on the 1992 C1500. Two recalls sit on the record, each concerning a replacement filter with a seal that may not hold: the fuel filter leaking at its connection, the oil filter losing engine oil, both raising a fire risk. The complaint history is larger, with forty-two entries and visibility the clear leader at thirteen, then service brakes at five and the power train at four. Wiper and washer operation, glass and mirror fitting, defroster circuits, brake hydraulics and transmission diagnostics all appear in the procedures, torque values and wiring diagrams given here.
