1990 Chevrolet C1500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1990 Chevrolet C1500 asks a lot of one volume: six engines, six trims and two cab styles. The engines run from the 4.1L inline-six of 250 cubic inches to the 7.4L V8 of 454, with the 4.3L V6, the 5.0L and 5.7L V8s and a 6.2L diesel V8 of 379 cubic inches between them, all naturally aspirated. Base, WT, Cheyenne, Scottsdale, Silverado and 454 SS set the equipment. A truck has to be identified by engine and trim before its torque values, clearances and diagnostic paths can be read off.

Known issues on the 1990 C1500. Three recalls appear on the federal record. The restraint entry covers instructions for adjusting the rear lap-and-shoulder belts that were printed incorrectly, so a belt adjusted as directed might not restrain an occupant in a sudden stop. Two more concern replacement filters that can seal badly, one letting fuel escape at the connection and one letting engine oil out, with fire the consequence in both. Twenty-two complaints are on record, seven on service brakes, three on seat belts and two on the fuel system, each a system this manual specifies and diagnoses.
