Known issues on the 1989 C1500. Three recalls are recorded. One is a restraint problem of an unusual kind: the instructions supplied for adjusting the rear lap-and-shoulder belts were wrong, so a belt set the way the owner was told would not hold an occupant properly in a crash or hard stop. The other two concern replacement filters, a fuel filter that can leak at a poorly sealed connection and an oil filter that can lose engine oil, each with fire named as the risk. Of the thirty-three complaints, eight are on service brakes, five on the power train and four on exterior lighting.
