Known issues on the 1984 E-150 Econoline. Two recalls are on federal record here. One concerns front seat belt anchorages, where occupants would not be adequately protected in a crash. The other concerns a carburetor secondary throttle shaft that could become contaminated with mileage and stick partly open, letting the van run faster than the driver intended. Owners have filed three complaints with NHTSA, two of them about seat belts and one about the tires. Fuel metering and restraint hardware are both covered by the procedures and specifications in this manual.
