Known issues on the 2024 Cayenne. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first is a lighting control module software fault: after the vehicle is turned off, the rear hazard warning lights and the parking lights may not illuminate if they are activated within 10 seconds after the gateway control unit shuts off, and rear hazard warning lights and parking lights that fail to illuminate can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. The second covers the driver's side front axle upper left control arm, which may have been installed with cracks that can result in the front axle control arm breaking and an unexpected loss of steering and wheel control, and a sudden loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash. The third concerns the high pressure fuel pump, whose fasteners may not be tightened properly, resulting in a fuel leak; a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. The fourth is the rearview camera, whose image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse, and a rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners have submitted 5 complaints for the year.
