Known issues on the 2020 Cayenne. Four recalls sit on the federal record for this model year. One covers the automatic transmission cooling lines: an insufficient weld on a transmission oil pipe can let automatic transmission fluid escape, and fluid leaking while the vehicle is driven may make the road surface slippery, increasing the risk of a crash. A second covers the seats on Coupe models, where a passenger seat back heating element was left uninstalled and can affect the calibration of the Occupant Classification System, so the front passenger air bag may fail to deploy, increasing the risk of injury. A third is an instrument cluster fault: the cluster may not provide a visual warning when the brake pads are worn out, and a driver who is never alerted to worn pads may find the vehicle does not respond as expected when braking. The fourth covers the rearview camera, whose image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse, which reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle and leaves the car short of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 for rear visibility.
