Known issues on the 2012 Cayenne. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the brake pedal, which can be missing a circlip on its pivot pin, allowing the pin to move and the pedal to dislodge so the driver cannot apply the brakes. The second covers the headlights, which can come loose and detach from the fender, cutting visibility. The third covers the turbocharger on Cayenne Turbo models, whose turbine wheel can fracture from a casting defect and draw oil into the exhaust system, producing smoke and increasing fire risk. The fourth covers the caps over the low-beam headlight adjustment screws, which can be missing and leave the headlights improperly adjusted, causing glare or poor road illumination.
