Known issues on the 2021 Tiguan. Five recalls are on the federal record for the 2021 Tiguan. On certain long-wheelbase vehicles, the rear suspension knuckles could corrode and crack through, upsetting stability. Certain long-wheelbase Tiguans could leave the factory short of front seat track bolts, letting the seat slide freely in a crash. On certain long-wheelbase units, a manufacturing flaw in the infotainment memory module could leave the rearview camera display blank, and a software update resolved it. Owners filed 140 complaints, with the engine (52) ahead of the electrical system (25) and forward collision avoidance, fuel/propulsion system and power train (11 apiece); 2 complaints reported a crash and 2 an injury.
