Known issues on the 2013 Tiguan. Air bags top the complaint list for the 2013 Tiguan, with 63 of the 139 owner complaints, ahead of the electrical system (35), engine (29) and steering (27); 2 complaints reported a crash, 1 a fire and 1 an injury. The model year also carries 3 recalls. On certain vehicles, debris could tear the clock spring cable that feeds the driver's air bag, so the bag might not deploy. Certain examples modified while in internal evaluation may fall short of regulatory requirements. And certain vehicles built July 2007 through June 2014 could stall when bubbles formed in winterized fuel, so dealers reprogrammed them for higher fuel pump pressure. Steering, electrical and fuel system procedures, wiring diagrams and diagnostics apply.
