The rear seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, preventing a child restraint from securing properly and increasing the risk of injury during a crash. Rear axle alignment may not have been inspected after a related repair, allowing misalignment that causes premature or uneven tire wear and increases the risk of a crash. An incorrectly manufactured passenger air bag may not deploy properly and could eject plastic debris into the cabin, increasing the risk of injury during a crash. A broken lock nut on the rear trailing arm can misalign the rear axle, causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash. A sticking fuel level sender can display an inaccurate reading, risking an engine stall due to lack of fuel and increasing the risk of a crash. A software issue can leave the rearview camera display blank when the vehicle is in reverse, reducing the driver's rear visibility. Liquid spilled in the rear seat may penetrate and shut down the gateway control module, suddenly reducing engine power and increasing the risk of a crash. An incorrectly labeled brake fluid cap can lead to the wrong type of brake fluid being used, reducing braking ability and increasing the risk of a crash. A software error can cause the instrument panel display, including the speedometer and warning lights, to fail, increasing the risk of a crash. A separate software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying as intended, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
