Known issues on the 2017 S6. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the front passenger seat's Occupant Detection System: stress or wear on the body-sensing mat can cause the PODS control module to malfunction, so the front passenger air bag may not deploy properly in a crash. The second covers the turbocharger oil supply strainer, which can become blocked and starve the turbo bearings of lubrication; worn bearings can then let the turbine wheel contact the housing or the shaft break, stalling the engine and increasing the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 5 complaints for the year and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether you're inspecting the PODS seat mat, servicing the turbo oil supply strainer, or working through a routine maintenance interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2017 S6.
