Known issues on the 2016 S6. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the front passenger Occupant Detection System: stress or wear of the body-sensing mat in the seat can cause the PODS module to malfunction, so the front passenger air bag may not deploy properly in a crash. The second covers the turbocharger: a blocked oil supply strainer can starve the bearings of lubrication, letting the turbine wheel contact its housing or the shaft break, which can stall the engine and increase the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 19 complaints for the year and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind both systems are here.
Whether you're inspecting the PODS seat mat, chasing a turbo oil-supply fault, or working through a routine service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2016 S6.
