Known issues on the 2020 A8 Quattro. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. One covers the engine control module: a missing sealing pin may allow moisture to enter the control module connector, and the resulting malfunction may cause the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash. A second covers the rear axle, where the lock nut on the trailing arm may break due to stress corrosion and misalign the axle, causing a loss of control. A third is the follow-up to that repair and covers the tires, because a rear axle whose alignment was not inspected after the earlier work may cause premature or uneven tire wear. A fourth covers the onboard charging cable: when the industrial 220V/240V plug is used at the 100 percent charge setting, some home power outlets may be incapable of handling the current the compact charging system requires, and the overheated outlet or cable can increase the risk of a fire. The fifth covers the rearview camera, where a software error may prevent the image from displaying, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle and failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111. No owner complaints and no technical service bulletins are logged for the year.
