Known issues on the 2014 A8 Quattro. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two involve the high pressure fuel pump's supply line, which can turn porous over time and leak fuel near an ignition source, raising fire risk. A third covers the standard sunroof, whose glass panel could shatter and let broken glass fall on occupants or distract the driver. A fourth concerns the engine compartment seal, which can come loose and contact hot engine components, again raising fire risk. The fifth covers the turbocharger oil supply strainer, which can become blocked and starve the turbo bearings, letting the turbine wheel contact its housing or the shaft break, causing an engine stall. Owners have filed 18 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged.
From tracing a fuel line leak to inspecting the sunroof glass or the turbo oil strainer, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and correct specification for your specific 2014 A8 Quattro.
