Known issues on the 2007 A8 Quattro. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the sunroof assembly: the glass may not be properly secured to the frame and can detach from the car while driving, turning into a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash. The second covers the frontal air bags: a weak battery can cause a low-voltage condition that makes the air bag control unit improperly set a fault code, deactivating the passenger-side frontal air bag (with the warning light and "PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF" telltale illuminating to alert the driver) and risking injury to that occupant in a frontal crash if it fires. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2007-2009 Audi A8 and S8 vehicles. The sunroof glass on the affected vehicles may not be properly secured to the sunroof frame. As a result, the sunroof glass may detach
Consequence
If the glass detaches from the sunroof frame it could be come a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will install additional adhesive between the sunroof glass and frame, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August 4, 2016. Owners may contact

IF THE CASE OF A FRONTAL CRASH, THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIR BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY WHICH COULD CAUSE INJURY TO THE SEAT OCCUPANT.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL UPDATE THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 5, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AUDI AT 1-800-822-2834.
