Known issues on the 2019 X5. Thirteen recalls are on the federal record. A starter motor can overheat on repeated cranking and ignite material near it, and capacitors in the body domain controller can short and overheat in much the same way. A fuel pump that was not properly attached can crack at its flange and leak. Wheel bolts left loose can allow a wheel to come off, a steering column bearing plate can work loose, and a weld inside the integrated brake system can separate under hard braking. Of 183 complaints, 54 concern the electrical system.
