Known issues on the 2018 Frontier. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the mechanical key ignition switch, part of a wider Nissan recall: over time, weight on the key ring and road jarring can knock the switch out of the run position and into accessory, stalling the engine and increasing the risk of a crash. The second covers the back-up camera display, which can be adjusted so the rear view image no longer shows and the system keeps that setting the next time the truck is put in reverse, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 25 complaints for the year and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether you're chasing an intermittent stall from the ignition switch, resetting the back-up camera display, or servicing the VQ40DE or QR25DE, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2018 Frontier.
