Known issues on the 2004 Frontier. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the lower steering column joint, where corrosion can restrict movement and place excessive load on the shaft, which may then crack during low-speed maneuvers and cause a loss of steering control. The second and third cover aftermarket combination headlamp assemblies sold as replacements for this truck that lack the required amber side reflectors, reducing visibility to other drivers. The fourth covers an aftermarket trailer brake control harness with a misrouted wire that sends power to the dash light circuit instead of the trailer brakes, resulting in a lack of trailer braking when the vehicle's brakes are applied. Remedy

Consequence
