Known issues on the 2016 3500. NHTSA's count for the 2016 3500 is 13 recalls. On certain trucks, a manufacturing flaw could make the left and right side curtain air bag inflators rupture, spraying sharp metal toward occupants; one or both curtains were replaced as needed. Certain trucks could have the outer steering linkage jam nut back off until the drag link separated, and dealers either replaced the drag link or welded the nut in place. Steering (29), engine (21) and wheels (21) head the 134 complaints, and 12 complaints reported a crash.
