Known issues on the 2013 3500. With 15 recalls filed, the 2013 3500 has a federal history worth checking. Certain trucks with the diesel inline-six and a particular brand of water pump built without a vent hole could leak coolant, raising the risk of an engine compartment fire, and the pumps were replaced. On certain trucks, the jam nut on the outer steering linkage could loosen and let the drag link come apart at one end, taking away steering control. Owners filed 114 complaints, led by steering (37), engine (27) and suspension (18); 7 complaints reported a fire and 1 a death.
