Known issues on the 2014 XF. Seven recalls are on federal record for this model year. On 2.0L GTDi cars, underfloor fuel delivery lines can chafe against the under shield and leak fuel near an ignition source, and a loose Charge Air Cooler hose clamp can let the hose detach, stalling the engine and reducing steering and brake assist. Two separate steering recalls cover a Front End Auxiliary Drive idler pulley retaining bolt that can fail and a Power Assist Steering hose component that can collapse, both cutting power steering assist. A right-hand rear brake pipe can wear through against a rear sub-frame bracket and leak brake fluid, lengthening stopping distance, while the rear toe links can separate from the sub-frame and cause a loss of vehicle stability and directional control. A further recall covers the passenger frontal air bag inflator module, which can rupture and send sharp metal fragments into the cabin. Owners have filed 11 complaints for the year.
