Known issues on the 2009 Ridgeline. Nine recalls are on federal record for this model year. Seven of them cover Takata-supplied driver and passenger frontal air bag inflators, which can explode or rupture after long-term exposure to heat, humidity and time, sending metal fragments into the cabin and resulting in serious injury or death. An eighth covers accelerator pedal assemblies that can bind so the engine fails to quickly return to idle after the pedal is released, increasing the risk of a crash. The ninth covers frame corrosion from accumulated road salt that can corrode the mounting surface and detach the fuel tank's mounting bands, causing a fuel leak that increases the risk of a fire.
