Known issues on the 2006 Ridgeline. Fourteen recalls are on federal record for this model year, and eight of them trace back to Takata-supplied driver and passenger frontal air bag inflators that can degrade with age and humidity exposure and rupture on deployment, sending metal fragments into the cabin. Beyond the air bag campaigns, Honda also recalled the truck for an accelerator pedal that can bind and delay the engine's return to idle, increasing crash risk; a fuel pump relay coil wire that can break and cut power to the pump, causing the engine to stall without warning; a wiring harness connector for the HVAC blower motor under the dash that can overheat, melt and short-circuit if kicked, posing a fire risk; frame corrosion from road salt that can loosen the fuel tank mounting bands and cause a fuel leak near an ignition source; an aftermarket hitch bike rack pinch bolt that can pinch, lacerate or amputate fingers; and an owner's manual printed with an outdated NHTSA safety hotline number.
