Known issues on the 2008 Ridgeline. Ten recalls are on federal record for this model year. Six of them cover the frontal air bag inflators, driver and passenger side across separate campaigns, where the propellant can degrade after long-term heat and humidity exposure or absorb moisture and rupture, sending sharp metal fragments toward occupants and risking serious injury or death. A separate recall covers the accelerator pedal assembly, which can bind so the engine fails to quickly return to idle, increasing the risk of a crash. Another covers an aftermarket hitch-style bike rack sold for the Ridgeline, whose pinch bolt can cause severe laceration or amputation to the user's fingertips or hand when the bike arm bracket is moved. A hood recall addresses a support rod pivot hole that wasn't punched to specification, which can let the hood fall and increase the risk of injury. The final recall covers the frame, where road salt accumulation can corrode the fuel tank mounting surface and detach the tank, risking a fuel leak near an ignition source and increasing the risk of fire.
