2008 GMC Savana 2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2008 GMC Savana 2500 keeps three engines on its list, a turbocharged 6.6L V8 diesel and naturally aspirated 6.0L and 4.8L V8s, and three trims, Base, LS and LT. Five body arrangements are covered, including cargo vans with three or four doors and standard passenger vans in both door counts. The book separates the diesel from the gasoline engines throughout, so their specifications, torque values and diagnostic sequences never have to be untangled from one another at the bench.

Known issues on the 2008 Savana 2500. Four owner complaints are logged with NHTSA for the 2008 van, two of them against the electrical system and one each against the engine and the body structure. That is a short list for a working vehicle, and it maps onto three parts of this manual: the wiring diagrams and circuit diagnostics, the engine mechanical specifications and torque values for the 6.6L diesel and both gasoline V8s, and the body and frame service procedures with their own fastener figures.
