This factory service and repair manual for the 2005 GMC Savana 2500 covers four 3-door bodies, cargo and passenger in standard and extended lengths, and a two-rung trim ladder of Base and SLE. Known issues on the 2005 Savana 2500. The 2005 van carries five recalls on its federal record. Two involve platform wheelchair lifts added by an upfitter, where the interlock and warning arrangements fell short of the standard and the lift could move when it should not. A third covers seat belt buckles that fail to latch or fail to release; a fourth, a brake booster accumulator that can crack and separate under normal operation. Owner complaints number 23, weighted toward the service brakes with steering and structure behind them, so the hydraulic brake, steering linkage and body procedures see the most use.
