Known issues on the 2007 Wrangler. Seven recalls are on federal record for this model year: an antilock brake and traction control fault that can cause a loss of vehicle control and a crash; a liner that can shift forward and impede the accelerator; a passenger-side frontal air bag inflator defect; a driver's frontal air bag that may fail to deploy in a crash; a trailer tow bar that can fail and let the towed vehicle separate; automatic transmission fluid that can boil over onto a hot engine or exhaust component and cause a fire; and a brake fluid leak that can cause a partial loss of braking at the affected wheel. Owners have filed 791 complaints and 58 technical service bulletins have been issued for this model year.
ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE MAY CAUSE THE REAR BRAKES TO LOCK UP DURING CERTAIN BRAKING CONDITIONS.
Consequence
THIS COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
